Maine Envirothon Fall Field Days 2026-27
It’s time to get started with the 2026-27 Maine Envirothon season!
This fall, Maine Envirothon will be offering three Fall Field Day events that provide students with opportunities to learn about Maine’s natural resources through hands-on, field-based activities. Students will rotate through stations focused on topics related to the Envirothon competition, including forestry, soils, wildlife, and aquatic ecology.
Fall Field Days are in-person, outdoor events held at locations across Maine. They are open to all interested schools and groups and can be a great way to learn more about Envirothon, get hands-on experience with the competition topics, or simply use the day as a study and learning opportunity. You do not need to already be involved with Envirothon or plan to compete to participate.

What to Bring?
Fall Field Days are held outdoors, so students should come prepared for the weather and for spending the day outside.
Please bring:
Weather-appropriate outdoor clothing
Sturdy footwear suitable for walking outdoors
Your own water bottle or other drinks
Your own copy of Trees of Maine, if you have one
Students who already have a copy of Trees of Maine are encouraged to bring it with them. We may use the book during forestry and tree identification activities.
Please also follow any additional safety or site-specific instructions provided by the event coordinator.
Registration/Cost
Registration is required for Fall Field Days, and the cost to attend is $5 per student.
Payment may be made in advance by check or on the day of the event. Checks should be made payable to the Maine Association of Conservation Districts (MACD).
Food: Lunch or snacks may be provided at Fall Field Day events. Specific information about food will be provided by the event coordinator.
Please register as soon as possible so we can plan appropriately for each event.
New to Maine Envirothon?
If you're new to Maine Envirothon, we've added resources to help schools, teachers, advisors, and students learn more about the program and how to get started.
We've also created a new Maine Envirothon flyer that provides a quick overview of the program and can be shared with students, teachers, administrators, and others who may be interested in participating.
You don't need to have a team formed or know everything about Envirothon before attending a Fall Field Day. These events are a great opportunity to learn more about the program and see what it's all about.
Resources for Advisors
We've also been adding new resources for Envirothon advisors to help teams prepare for competition.
These resources are primarily focused on preparing for the spring Envirothon competitions, but they may also be useful for new advisors who want to become familiar with the topics, skills, and resources available to Envirothon teams.
Additional resources will continue to be added throughout the season.
